GENERAL SCIENCE - 2008/2009

Grades:        advanced 6th – 8th

Day/Time:   Thursdays 1:30 to 2:30

Cost:            $300 if paid by the first class or $40 per month for eight months.   A non-refundable $50 lab fee is due by September 1, 2008.

Class Description: A broad overview of science, laying a foundation for Physical Science and for Biology, and including such topics as the scientific method, simple machines, archaeology, geology, paleontology, biology, and human anatomy. Students will be responsible for daily readings, on-your-own problems, study questions, and vocabulary words at home; tests may be sent home or taken in class depending on time.  Class time will be used for enhanced teaching, experiments, questions, etc. Classes begin September 11, 2008. BIOLOGY 2008/2009

Day/Time: Tuesdays 1-3

Cost: $340 for the year, with a $60 lab fee

Class Description: The text used will be "Exploring Creation with Biology" by Dr Jay Wile and Marilyn Durnell. The two hour class will include lecture and lab work from the text. There will be 32 class periods and 2 family field trips. Classes start Septemeber 16, 2008.
